As part of TEKsystems, a leading provider of business and technology services, we offer boutique solutions to solve complex problems. Our multidisciplinary teams of strategists, designers, and technologists excel in research and discovery, experience strategy, design, experience management, and technology implementation. Whether clients are establishing a vision for an experience or optimizing an existing one, we help businesses understand their audiences, design experiences, maximize technology, and bring their digital ideas to life. The world’s most successful companies rely on us to forge the future through electrifying work that sparks innovation and drives results.
Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) Talent Acquisition Team requires:
Position Overview
Bring your technical expertise, passion, and curiosity to a creative and energetic team that builds innovative digital experiences for our clients. As a Senior Front-End Developer, you'll work closely with every part of One North. You'll partner with industry-leading strategists and designers, build alongside architects and developers, and help shape the work from kickoff to launch. In an increasingly competitive digital market, our developers are given the space to invent, problem solve, explore, fix, and create.
As a Figma Service Partner, we work deeply within the Figma ecosystem, from early design exploration through production handoff and design system management.
The Senior Front-End Developer will ideally be based in the Chicago area for a light hybrid onsite/remote work model, but we are open to remote locations across the U.S. and Canada.
Itching to extend and build upon your passion for digital craft? You found the right place.
Key Responsibilities
• Craft beautiful, useful end-user experiences while engineering for performance, accessibility, and maintainability
• Bring expert-level command of the tools, processes, and approaches behind world-class front-end work
• Demonstrate genuine appreciation for UX/UI and creative design principles and translate design intent into pixel-considered builds
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teammates to deliver strategic solutions to our clients' challenges
• Act as the technical lead on front-end projects, providing thoughtful guidance, code review, and mentorship
• Contribute to and help evolve our internal standards, component patterns, and engineering practices
Hard Skills & Qualifications
• 3 or more years of experience, ideally in an agency or consulting environment
• Advanced practitioner of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript using current best practices
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript. Comfortable in a typed codebase and able to model complex data well
• Significant production experience with React and Next.js
• Bespoke CSS/SCSS fluency. Comfortable architecting styles from scratch without leaning on Tailwind or other utility frameworks. We value craft over shortcuts here
• Experience designing, building, and consuming component libraries and design systems
• Deep proficiency with Figma and the broader Figma product suite (Figma Design, Dev Mode, FigJam, variables, libraries). You can navigate complex files, spot opportunities and conflicts early, and partner fluently with designers
• Ability to build resilient, responsive sites that deliver consistent experiences across screen sizes, devices, and browsers
• Demonstrated ability to meet WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards
• Solid grasp of SEO fundamentals, especially semantic markup and Core Web Vitals
• Hands-on experience with headless CMSs (Contentful, Sanity, Contentstack, or similar), including content modeling collaboration in addition to integration
• Comfortable integrating third-party libraries and SDKs to meet project requirements
• Confident with Git workflows, branching strategies, and code review
• Experience with JavaScript animation libraries (GSAP, Framer Motion, Three.js, etc.)
Working with AI Tools
We expect our Senior developers to have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) and a clear point of view on where they help and where they hurt. It's equally important that you can do excellent work without them. AI accelerates good engineers, and the fundamentals still matter. We're looking for people who reach for AI as one tool among many.
Soft Skills
• Effective communicator who genuinely enjoys collaboration
• Sharp eye for detail and high personal standards around the work
• Professional curiosity, with a habit of staying current on where the industry is heading

Description
If you’ve spent the last few years sharpening your skills in SQL, Java, and mission‑driven engineering, and you’re ready for work that actually moves the needle, this is the opportunity cleared engineers look for when they’re ready for real impact. If you take pride in writing your own résumé, owning your craft, and delivering results that senior leaders actually see, you’ll thrive here.
We’re hiring a SQL Engineer to support a highly visible, data‑driven application that powers analytics and reporting across the organization. In this role, you’ll write complex queries, shape data for dashboards, optimize performance at scale, and deliver high‑quality datasets that stakeholders rely on every day. Our primary development team operates out of Gaithersburg, MD, but innovation doesn’t stop there. We’re able to support onsite engineers in Alexandria, VA; Chantilly, VA; Aurora, CO; St. Louis, MO; and Tucson, AZ, giving top talent multiple paths to join the mission.
And while the requisition requirements may seem standard fair, the position is not; as it will join a high performing team that is changing the way digital engineering and mission operations intelligence is enabled for our customer.
Why This Role Stands Out
• High Impact: Your work directly supports a widely used application that drives real-time decision-making
• High Visibility: Partner with engineering teams and key stakeholders across programs
• Career Growth: Expand your expertise in large-scale data systems, performance optimization, and advanced SQL engineering
• Challenging Work: Tackle complex data problems, not routine queries
Key Responsibilities
• Develop advanced, high-performance SQL queries across large, complex datasets (multi-table joins, window functions, aggregations)
• Optimize query performance using execution plans, indexing strategies, and query refactoring
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across reporting datasets
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues across database and application layers
• Shape and structure data for efficient and intuitive dashboard visualization
• Collaborate with ETL engineers and dashboard developers to ensure reliable, end-to-end data delivery
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of experience, or Master’s with 6–10 years of experience
• U.S. Citizenship
• Active TS/SCI with the ability to successfully pass a Polygraph
• Expert-level SQL skills, including:
• Complex joins across large datasets
• Query optimization and execution plan analysis
• Aggregations, subqueries, and window functions
• Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar)
• Experience working with large-scale data supporting analytics/reporting
• Proficiency in Linux environments
• Ability to work independently and solve complex data challenges
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Grafana or similar visualization tools
• Python for data manipulation (pandas, scripting, automation)
• Experience with materialized views, caching strategies, or query acceleration techniques
