Job Title: Full Stack Java Developer
Job Description
We are seeking a Full Stack Java Developer to develop and maintain a cloud management software application for submarine systems. The role focuses on ensuring high availability and high fault tolerance within a Kubernetes PaaS environment. This application integrates various combat subsystems, such as sonar, radar, and weapons control, into a cohesive combat system for U.S. Navy submarines.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain cloud management software front end for submarine systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, secure, and scalable solutions.
• Implement and optimize features using Java, React, Spring, Redux, and Kubernetes.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for seamless communication between front end and back end services.
• Ensure the application meets high availability and fault tolerance requirements.
• Participate in Agile development processes, code reviews, and system architecture discussions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues in a timely manner.
• Work extensively in Linux environments for development, deployment, and troubleshooting.
Essential Skills
• Proficiency in Java, Linux, Spring, React, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Ability to develop and integrate RESTful APIs.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Interim Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with cloud management platforms and PaaS environments.
• Strong understanding of high availability and fault tolerance in distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Work Environment
Located at a 2000+ person site in Manassas, VA, the work schedule is flexible with options for 4/10s, 9/80, or a standard 5 days/40-hour week. The site offers opportunities for skill advancement in various programs, enhancing technology knowledge.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Manassas, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $75.00/hr.
