About the Role
Job Summary/Company: Our client is seeking a skilled GitHub System Administrator to support enterprise software delivery and DevOps transformation initiatives. In this role, you will administer, configure, and optimize GitHub as a mission-critical platform, enabling teams to collaborate efficiently, maintain code quality, and deliver secure, scalable solutions. This position plays a key role in supporting federal or enterprise environments by ensuring GitHub is properly governed, integrated, and aligned with organizational standards for security, compliance, and performance. Due to a federal government requirement, only US citizens can be considered for this role. It is a fully remote position, working east coast hours.
Responsibilities:
• Administer GitHub organizations, repositories, and teams.
• Configure repository settings, branch protection rules, and access controls.
• Manage user roles, permissions, and team structures following least-privilege principles.
• Configure and manage integrations with third-party tools (e.g., CI/CD platforms, security scanners, etc.)
• Design, implement, and maintain GitHub Actions workflows for CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications/Background Profile:
• 3+ years of experience administering GitHub (Enterprise Cloud or Server).
• 1+ years of experience with Git version control concepts (branching, merging, pull requests).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD workflows.
• 5+ years of experience managing user access, permissions, and repository governance.
• 1+ years of experience with exposure to REST APIs and integration troubleshooting.
