Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities. Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies. Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develops technical documentation. Develops system Architecture and system design documentation. Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. You will be part of a team that designs, implements, and maintains DevOps resources for multiple product teams and enables teams to automate build and deploy where possible. • *This position allows for partial telework. • *Clearance A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position. • *Experience** Twenty (20) years-experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. • *Required Skills • Developing Infrastructure As Code and scripting to automate tasks, provision managed services, and build tools. Popular programming languages for DevOps engineers include Terraform, Ansible, and Python • Install, configure, and provide performance tuning utilizing: Kubernetes and cloud native logging and metrics collection tools (i.e. Elasticsearch, Grafana/Prometheus) • Managing Gitlab CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code utilizing GitLab runners and Argo CD • Managing commercial cloud computing platforms (AWS) • Communication and collaboration: DevOps is a team-oriented discipline. Engineers need to be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, as well as with stakeholders • Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required • Kubernetes and cloud native logging and metrics collection tools (i.e. Elasticsearch, Grafana/Prometheus) • *Desired Skills • Developing and managing Gitlab CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes • Designing, building, and maintaining AWS infrastructure including but not limited to EC2, Lambdas, EKS, RDS, S3, EFS, EBS, using Terraform and auto scaling • Collaborating with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability • Troubleshooting infrastructure issues and ensure system uptime • Kubernetes experience with a focus on EKS • Familiarity with FOSS tools such as Elasticsearch, Prometheus/Grafana, PGAdmin, etc. that can be installed in Kubernetes via helm chart • Familiarity with various Kubernetes storage class types such as GP3. Requirements
