Jira Migration Specialists Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid – 2–3 days/week onsite) Duration: 12 Months Role Overview We are seeking skilled and experienced Mid-Level Jira Migration Specialists to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in migrating Atlassian Jira and Confluence instances from a Data Center environment to Atlassian Cloud (SaaS). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Atlassian tools, cloud architecture, and hands-on experience executing migration projects. This role requires technical proficiency, strong problem-solving skills, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities • Participate in planning, execution, and management of Jira and Confluence migrations to Atlassian Cloud. • Develop and implement migration strategies and execution plans. • Perform data migration, system configuration, and user setup in the Cloud environment. • Execute post-migration activities, including updates to workflows, screens, and schemas. • Use migration tools such as Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) and Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA). • Identify risks and proactively mitigate migration challenges to minimize disruptions. • Apply knowledge of Jira architecture, migration methodologies, and cloud technologies. • Understand differences between Jira Data Center and Jira Cloud environments. • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth migration delivery. • Document migration processes, lessons learned, and best practices. • Developer-Specific Responsibilities • Use tools like ScriptRunner to automate processes. • Work with Forge platform for Jira Cloud app development and enhancements. Required Experience • 4–5 years of experience in Jira migration (Data Center to Cloud). • Strong expertise in Jira configuration, including global and project-level settings. • Hands-on experience with data migration, user setup, and post-migration fixes. • Deep understanding of Jira architecture and cloud migration strategies. • Experience with Atlassian migration tools (JCMA, CCMA). • Strong knowledge of Jira Cloud vs Data Center differences.
