Front End Developer (JavaScript / HTML / CSS)
Optomi, in partnership with, a leading insurance provider, is seeking a Front End Developer for either their Durham, NC office! There is a hybrid structure with flexibility for working from home. They are looking for a developer with strong experience in Vanilla JavaScript , web components , and component-based development focused on building reusable design system components (buttons, headers, footers, etc.).

Experience of the Right Candidate :
• 3–5 years of front-end development experience (or 5+ years in lieu of degree).
• Strong experience with Vanilla JavaScript and CSS—not reliant on front-end frameworks like React or Angular.
• Experience building framework-independent, reusable web components.
• Familiarity with unit testing practices and tools.
• Comfortable working with design systems and Figma.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
• Develop and maintain reusable UI components using VanillaJS and LIT web framework.
• Work closely with designers to implement high-fidelity UI components based on Figma mockups.
• Ensure components are framework-agnostic, built to be used across multiple environments.
• Write unit tests to ensure quality and performance of components.
• Adhere to best practices for semantic HTML, CSS (BEM methodology), and accessibility.
• Optimize code for performance and maintainability, with an eye on Lighthouse metrics and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate components into broader web solutions.
